The Mono Polys first Ep ‘LIFE’ is now available for digital download. I have written about it before, but i still think it needs to be said. This is an amazing first snippet of the musical ability of this new energetic band from Colchester.
Just after one listen the vocals will echo through your mind, and you wont be able to forget The Mono Polys. The hugely catchy tune ‘ I Want To Be With You ’ will have you bobbing around whilst ’ You Think You Know It All ‘ will have you close to tears as you connect to the hugely talented and charismatic Tom Knights. Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter/Hair all could be used to describe the frontman, but none can describe the genuine guy that he is, but listening to the songs could give you an insight in his deep emotion and scary thoughts.

So you’ve done alot in these past months, you’ve played a number of gigs and released an ep. happy? yeah i am, we’ve got alot booked for summer aswell, a few small festivals, and hopefully some more recording, and by the end of summer our full length album should be finished!
sounds like you know where you are going with this, what will people expect to hear from the full legnth album? ermm, it’s going to be a carry on from the ep. the ep is about the 4 main things that have happened in my life, fear, love, heartbreak and anger, and the album will continue with this theme of the “elements of my life” i think i’ve probably already written most of the material which is going to be on the album.
sounds really cool man, people will love it. the elements present on the ep all give off the impression you are a very dark guy? is there anything that makes you happy though? Yes, i am happy. And there will be a few happy songs on the album. But i find it hard to write music when i’m happy, if im down i can sit down with a guitar and just write songs. it’s weird, but i like it.

if you could change anything in the world, what would it be? Everyone would be equal. And money wouldnt exist.
but then how would people buy your album? i would give to them out of love… and they could give me mcdonalds in return
could do with a mcdonalds right now. what would you order? i would get 7 mayo chickens, a regular fries and a coke with ice.
who would you love to eat them with, if it could be anyone? it would be you and ian curtis
ian curtis is amazing, do you think he’d like your music? and mcdonalds meal? i think he’d prefer the mcdonalds to our music!

both? music - the drums, french films, and a small band called days! girls. women- i don’t reallly know. anyone that likes me
i realised that that was one of the few questions that has related to music… music is shit!
So yeah, pointless interview but still, The Mono Polys are not. Please give their new EP a listen and share it with your friends as this truly is a masterpiece that has developed from Colchester, and deserves to be shared around the world

saw The Drums in Oxford last night
they were so sick
but have to say the highlight of the night was ending up backstage hanging out with them.
